Just before Christmas in 2019, I was mindlessly scrolling on Amazon when suddenly, I saw this beautiful doll, aka Barbie Fashionista #82 Chic in Chambray. I couldn’t help but notice the resemblance to me. Thinking it would be nice to have an avatar, I bought her…and immediately, the repressed preteen in me awakened.

Over four years later, MiniMe has about 999 more friends, and I’ve officially become a doll collector and an avid doll photographer. MiniMe opened me up to a vibrant community of like-minded souls from all over the world. That community kept me sane during an oppressive lock down, feeding my need for connection to humanity in our darkest times.
